Baby Bronwyn (7 months)

Such a little sweetie!! I met with her Mommy, Grandparents and Uncle in Forsythe Park again. I love shooting there. Especially with little sweetie's like Bronwyn. This time they brought a chair that her Mommy used to sit in when she was a baby. Bronwyn didn't like sitting much. She loves to stand. :0) We got some really precious photographs at this session. I love Bronwyns expressions. That's for making the trip again Candace. I will see you again soon for her 9 month session. :0)

Photographers be jealous because every one of you could have shot Little Miss Emma for days!!! She loved the camera and the camera loved her!! Beautiful Clara Rose's 6 month session

As always Clara Rose looked stunning in her 6 month portraits. She has the most beautiful round eyes. It always takes my breath away when I open up her files to begin editing. She wasn't too happy with me this time because she didn't feel good. :( Her Mommy loves hats and I love that about her Mommy. I look forward to her 9 month session. The Henderson Family

I am such a lucky girl. I get to meet the sweetest families! The Henderson's were certainly one of them. Not to mention Joy is a wonderful hobby photographer herself! ;0) We met down at Ebenezer Retreat to get these shots. How gorgeous are they?

This little one reminds me so much of my own stinkerbell at her age. Mommy and I decided it is the shape of their eyes and how they make contact with the camera. She is amazing!

Our Sweet Little Mascots

My son play's for our county's football team the Effingham Jaguars. This team is more like family then anything else. We have all watched our boys grow into the young men they are becoming. We also get to watch the siblings of the boys grow. This is little Ella and Victoria. They play together at every practice. It is the sweetest thing. So of course they have to look cute for the games! They are princess's after all!! As soon as I saw these adorable tutu's by "The Photo Punks" on Etsy, I knew that they just had to have them! They customized them in the colors of our team and shipped them very promptly! I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to add a little cuteness to their lives! What a beauty...Meet Bronwyn

I have been looking forward to this session for a while now. Bronwyn's Grandma Em contacted me about my baby plan by email. She had seen images of another client of mine. I was flattered when she told me they were 2 1/2 hours away. We met in Forsythe park in Savannah. Bronwyn was so beautiful. I also loved the thought they put into the outfits they wanted to put her in. She is a very loved little girl.

Even though our beloved Georgia bulldogs lost that day, Bronwyn still gave Uga some love! Sweet Georgia kisses! :0)

It really doesn't get much cuter than this...lol!

Just look at this outfit below! I loved it so much. It was her Mommy Candace's favorite also!

I can't wait for my next session with Bronwyn. I really enjoyed meeting you Candace, Em and forgive me for not remembering Grandmpa, and Uncle's name. It was my pleasure to work with you. Look forward to meeting again soon. :0)

Sweet little guy,Joseph

Joseph is my newest, itty, bitty, newborn. I really love his name, after all it is what I chose for my first born. I wish for little Joey to be as sweet, kind, smart and loving as my own little Joey, (well maybe he isn't so little any more but he is still my baby. lol) Joseph did very well during his session. Hardly any fuss at all. He put up with me moving him around from place to place. I was able to get a few smiles too. I love his full little lips. So very cute! I enjoyed talking with his Mommy Leslie through the session also.

The image below is with Daddy Justin's guitar. I loved the color and the worn look to it. Of course baby Joseph made it look even better.

Here is one of the sweet smiles I was talking about. So very, very sweet. I have come to realize the littlest babies love to be taken outside. They seem most comfortable there.

Of course we needed to include his big brother JW! This is one of my favorites from the session.

Sweet little Nicholas

I was really excited to do this session with baby Nicholas because his Mommy and Daddy were some of my favorite wedding couples to this day! Here is a shot of them on their wedding day:

There was no doubt in my mind that they would have an adorable baby! I sure wasn't wrong. Nicholas is so very cute and so very loved! I especially love this shot where he is making his "fishy face." Tell me that doesn't make you smile!! ;0)

I love seeing my client's families grow and to be able to share the images as it happens. I look forward to photographing this little cutie pie many more times.

Sweet Little Liam

Sweet Little Liam is my newest little newborn. He is so teeny but so strong! I can't believe how much he can hold his head up and for how long! Well I kind of can, my little girl did the same thing when she was a teeny little one. She is my most strong willed child, so Liam will more than likely be too. That is a good thing! I also look forward to my next year getting to know this little family and to watch little Liam grow! Can't wait to get some gummy smiles from him. :0)

Leslie's Maternity

Leslie chose me to capture her second pregnancy. Her and her husband Justin were expecting their son any day when we met. Actually he is here now and I get to meet him next week when we do his newborn session. YAY! I love babies so much. They were a sweet family and I have to say BRAVO to Leslie for handling the heat that day. I remember those last weeks of pregnancy so well and believe me it isn't easy! Not too mention I had her getting into weeds and grass. :0) I also got to meet their sweet boy JW. He did such a good job too! I look forward to getting to know them better through out the year of sessions we have ahead of us.

I love these next two oh so very much! The connection with JW's eyes and my lens was just perfect! I knew these would be my favorites when I took them. I love that feeling!!

I also love the colors that Leslie chose for her family to wear. I told her that I thought that warm, neutral colors would look lovely in that field and she got it right on. She looks sunkissed in this one. :0)

Oh Stuey!!!

Stuey never fails to give millions of smiles. You can't help but be happy around him. Even though we were rushing him around trying to beat a thunderstorm, he just went along with the flow and never stopped smiling. He is making really funny faces now too! He had tons to say this time too but they all came out sounding like, Da Da Da Da! lol. My next session with him, he will be ONE! I can't even believe it. Time sure does fly!

Precious Clara

I really think she might be a model someday! ;0) She was so amazing to work with. I can't wait for her next session. From the minute I met her she was so full of smiles. Usually I get this crazy look when I pull out the big black camera. Not with Clara...it's like she knew exactly what it was for and she was ready to be the star of the show! The Webb Family

Let me start out by saying I love this family! They are all so sweet. I had a session over the summer with the boys and Mommy and now they have a beautiful new little one. I have to say I am pretty excited about finally photographing a baby girl! It has been a while. Seems we have had a boy baby boom...lol. Here are a couple from my session with the boys. Aren't they so handsome! They are also both so full of personality. The oldest, Carson and I have become BFF's!! ;0)

I was so happy that Holly and her parents chose me to photograph her senior casual portraits. She is such a stunning young lady. Beautiful inside and out. I have worked with Holly before so I knew she would be up to try something new. She didn't want the typical senior photos. She wanted something different. So off we went to downtown Savannah. The background options are endless in our beautiful city. All the old buildings and different colored brick. Colored doors here, there and everywhere! Holly only added to the beauty. Baby Stuey

Is the baby with the most smiles I have ever seen. Here is an image from his newborn session that Mommy entered in a photo contest. We didn't win but we came very close. The santa hat was almost as big as he was at the time so I did a lot of tucking and molding but loved how it came out.

We recently did his 6 month session. I swear I could not believe how happy he was! All of us were giggling at how much he was smiling. Truly a photographers dream. Also had to have some done in Daddy's hat. Stuey is going to be so proud one day telling the stories about how his Daddy is a hero. Thank God for our military men and women who makes sure we can all enjoy our day to day freedoms. Here are a few from our session. I look forward to his 9 months session! I think I have found my thing...

I have had many discussions with my friends about what "My Thing," is in photography. So many of us are on a mission to find "our style." What it is that we love to do in this huge world of photography. How we want to represent what we see. How we want to touch others with their own memories. I love everything about taking a photograph, no matter what it is. Last year I started my "Caterpillar to Butterfly" Baby Plan. I love everything about it. Not only do I get to watch a baby grow. Means a lot to me now that my children are all so grown up. It brings back memories of my own being that little. It touches my heart. That first year is when the months count. After that you don't say, "This is my child, he is 4 years old and 2 months....lol! That first year when they are completely dependent on their parents for everything. Watching new parents learn how to BE parents. It is fantastic!

I also get to know my clients a lot more. Seeing them much more than I normally would. I just completed my first plan and to be honest, Cohen's Mommy is not just his Mommy anymore. She is now my friend. Thank you Kim for trusting me to capture your little guy. Now I am working with more Mommy's and Daddy's and I hope that I take away friendship from that also.

I also know just how much even my stinking snapshots of my kiddos when they were babies pull at my heart strings. I look at them often. I always have to show my husband too and we both are in awe that they were ever that little. So it feels really special to me to know that my clients can pull out their book from their plan, anytime they want to recapture the feeling of that first year. So I thought I would share a year in the life of Cohen. This is the layout of his book that Kim and her husband Travis will soon have in their home to look back on whenever they want. ;0)

A Session with a Hero and a beautiful family

We had this session in Forsyth Park. Daddy was only home for a short time. He is a helicopter pilot for the United States Army and he had to go back to Afghanistan. So special to capture these moments for a Hero. You could see the love in his eyes for his daughter and wife. I do have to see this little girl was the sweetest baby. Never even made a peep. You could see her soul in her deep brown eyes. Thanks again to Sylvia for booking a session with me. I hope to see ya'll again soon. :0)

"Caterpillar to Butterfly" Baby Plan and Baby Cohen

I just love babies. Everything about them. I launched my "Caterpillar to Butterfly" baby plan and minutes later Baby Cohen's Mama signed up. :0) We did his 2 weeks portraits at his home. That way he wasn't out with any icky germs. Then we did his 3 months at the beach! What a crazy session that was. We fought with dark clouds and rain but in the long run got cute little gummy smiles and beautiful light in his eyes. I am looking forward to his 6 months session and to see just how much he has grown.

What beautiful eyes this family has. I have been friends with the Hinely's for a few years now. We got to know eachother during our boys baseball and football games. Jennifer wanted to have some pictures done to give as Christmas gifts this year. Her boys have such great personalites and Little Victoria is such a cute little bundle of energy.

They had such a beautiful day! I learned a few new things about them on their wedding day. To begin with Jacquelyn is Jac Jac to those that know and love her. Nick is a kiddo magnet. Everytime I turned around a little kiddo was tugging at his pant leg. They have a gorgeous little girl named Anna and a niece named Anna who is just as cute. They are the sweetest couple and thanked me more than once, which is always so appreciated. :)They were thoughtful of their guests even when they could have been selfish, after all it was their day. :) Much thought went into their wedding and all the little details. They went for comfort instead of glitz. You could feel the love and friendship in the air. I am honored to have been part of this "Rockstar" couples wedding. Thank you Jac Jac :) and Nick for including me to capture all these special moments that you will have always!

She Blooms...

She blooms....and time goes by so quickly. When she was a baby from the moment she saw what a butterfly was, she was entranced. Butterflies everywhere, dangling from the ceiling in her room, painted on her shelves. She couldn't get enough of them. She reminds me of a butterfly. Always fluttering from here to there. Never remaining in the same spot for long. Ever inquisitive and with so much energy. Here recently I have been noticing so many changes in her. She has so many questions. Long gone are the days when she got out her pretend makeup and dressed up for us. Now she asks for real makeup and longingly waits until I say, "Okay you can wear it to school." I so want her to wait and enjoy the moments as they come instead of rushing through them so quickly and growing up too fast. It is all so bittersweet to me. Watching her grow is both painful and joyful. She is my butterfly...so with my vision and her beauty I froze time with these. Someday her and I will look through all the photos I have taken of her and watch her transformation.

Once again in the words of Nathalie Merchant, "Pale green eyes, strawberry hair, lips so sweet, skin so fair..." That is my little girl. You are a gift that I will always treasure. I love you Stinkerbell!

Tybee Island and the Deason Family

That is where I met Betty Ospina from Serendipidty Photography in Richmond Hill. She contacted me to do her family portraits and I was so thrilled. Two minds are better than one and I really think when you put photographers together magic happens. And it is not because I have a crazy face (At least I hope not...lol) They on the other hand well...that's a different story all together!! lol! I always try to take the boring out of lining up and posing. At the end I let them be the kiddos they want to be and be as silly as they want to be. I tell you it makes even the most serious one crack up laughing. I love it. It also is my favorite part! Thank you Warriors and Thank you Coach Dale for helping me make it through the rain. We almost beat it. :) I think we did pretty good fitting 2 teams in!

Who could ask for anything more?? I had so so much fun with Little Raegan. I even got a lollipop sticky hug afterwards. We talked and giggled and jumped. Although she kept calling me Miss Nicole.

My 4 Reasons for happiness...

I have always wanted an urban session with all my children together. Especially in this one spot on River Street in Savannah. It is the sweetest pocket of light I have ever seen. Not too much to over power but just enough to have such a softness to it. I know I must sound weird but I really do notice how light falls in certain places and usually it isn't what you would think would be somewhere to do a portrait. I am so pleased with these images not only as a photographer but as a Mommy. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do. There are a lot to look at..lol.

There something about spring that just makes me happy. The beauty of the flowers started the bloom, the giggles of my kiddos who are home on spring break. I don't even mind the occasional showers. If there is one thing I can't resist is the opportunity to use a new background. Not one you purchase through a photography outlet but one that you create yourself. I purchased a new comforter for my bed. I can tell you that I bought it because I thought it would look beautiful in my bedroom but I would be fibbing just a little. I mainly bought it because it caught my eye for photos...lol. I think it worked out just fine. :) Of course I pulled my kiddo into my mission. She was kind enough to oblige as long as there was some make believe and makeup involved. In the first few you will see that I absolutely jumped at the chance for just that. She said she felt like something out of the matrix. Through grins and giggles we came up with these most beautiful, most serious faces. It kills me that she has the ability to bring on this seriousness in between snorts and laughter...lol.

I am getting more and more of these smiles lately and I would be lying if I told you that I didn't love it. This smile is what makes my heart smile. I love my girl!

I had a new assignment to do for a photography forum I belong to. The assignment was "Tools of a trade." My hubby is a firefighter so I decided to team up with him to show his trade and my photography. I am very pleased as to how this turned out and will be hanging this in our home soon.

I was accepted into the Littlest Heroes Project. The Littlest Heroes Project is a non-profit based organization founded in January 2008, made up of professional photographers nationwide that provide free photo sessions to our nations Littlest Heroes. This is our way of giving back and taking a stand for these children who sometimes feel forgotten because of their illnesses. We are here to let them know that they are heroes to many, and to share their inspirational stories and photos with the world.

This means so much to me. My brother lost his beautiful little angel Gabriel to cancer. Gabriel was diagnosed with rhabtoid tumors as a little baby. As you see in the picture below Gabriel was a little warrior, even cancer couldn't break his spirit or take his smile away. I dedicate any work I do for this organization to my sweet little nephew. Your are truly missed you beautiful little boy.

If not, you really should. My son loves the saga and is almost finished with all the books. His excitement for the books takes me back to when I was his age. He really carries a lot of my spirit and that makes me feel wonderful. I remember the days when books would take me away to another place, another time. I loved to imagine the characters in my mind and make them be exactly what I wanted them to be. One of my favorite authors back then was V.C. Andrews. I would get lost in her words. I would be completely oblivious to my own surroundings as I traveled through her written thoughts. So Austin and I jointly came up with this. He absolutely loves it and because of that, so do I. :)

Every year we do this and every year I have a slight panic attack thinking about it...lol. It is always harder to get all three of my OWN children to take pictures together. It is always easier when I do someone else's. Surprisingly this year they were almost perfect. The little bribery I had for them helped a little. **wink wink** Also I have to say that I love this field. By looking at it you would never tell that it would be a beautiful spot for portraits but the light is so yummy there, no matter the season. So here they are and to my loved ones, the card will be in the mail soon. :)

As always Gabs runs the show and puts her brothers in their place...

So we tried to bring them together! I had a great time with Tyler. He is a Senior this year. He really loves to play his Xbox so of course we had to include them in his shots! I think I might have gone overboard on sneak peaks but I really wanted Mom to see a little bit of all we got. I will let you both know when I have your gallery ready. I enjoyed meeting you and hope to take some family pictures soon. :)

Little Stinker!

I finally got this little guy. He teases me quite often by staring in our livingroom and driving our cat crazy! Yesterday he was peering in from our roof. This time he didn't run away but rather had a staring contest with me. That little stinker was looking at me like I was crazy and would tilt his little head with every click of the shutter. My kiddos couldn't get enough of it and it brought on some serious giggles.

Here was my last shot which by the way, scared the crud out of me! The little stinker leaped right at me, which in turn I leaped in the air camera in hand. I wish you could hear the giggle fest that it brought on...lol! Little Stinker!!

They are the best of friends. It had been a while since they all had seen eachother. Certainly not due to the fact that they didn't want to, but that unfortunately sometimes life just gets in the way. I couldn't be prouder of the relationship these little people have. I only hope that they always share the bond that they do now.

To my sweet nephews, I hope your Mommy is reading this to you. Uncle Kenny and I want you to know just how much we enjoyed see you. Jacob you are such a loving soul. Thanks so much for being so helpful to me on our last day. As I told you when I was there, you hold a very special place in my heart. Joshie Bee what can I say to you other than your little brown eyes still melt my heart. I am so proud of you for swimming all the way out to the cave on the boat. You and KK were so brave. Last but certainly not least Brooks..aka Boogie. We are so proud of you for how tough you were at football practice. I can already tell you are going to be a tough nut. We love you so much.

I had the honor and the privelage to meet Amy Benzenhafer of Sun and Sand Photography earlier this week.
She brought her beautiful niece. Gabi and Breanna got along beautifully. I have posted more images than I normally do but I just had so many I wanted to share. We walked around downtown Savannah and found some of the neatest spots to take photos. Thanks for looking.

My stinky little kiddo just got back from a camping trip with friends. Instead of buying a souvenir he came home with this stinky old hat...lol. He loves it and he will always remember what a good time he had this summer with friends. Thanks again H Family for taking him on your family vacation. The Alphabet Project

We have to take a picture a day that starts with a letter in the alphabet. We are on day 4, so I thought I would share mine. It has been challenging to find things to photograph that start with the letter and to somehow make them interesting. So here are my A...B...C...and D. :)

St. Patricks Day in Savannah

St. Patty's Day is a huge event in Savannah. Especially down on River Street. Great food, green beer. What more could you ask for? lol.
We went downtown on Saturday and had a great time with our kids. This years celebration was cut short due to weather. There was a major blackout Saturday night due to Tornadoes coming through Georgia. In fact that same night one came through our neighborhood. I want to try to forget the tornado, so am posting more happy images from earlier in the day. If you ever get the opportunity to visit, you really should. During the day there are family things to do, but the nighttime is definitely for adults.

People wear all kinds of crazy beads, just like Mardi-Gras in Louisiana.

Spring Fever!

Oh I so have it! I can't wait until it get's warm. I want to be able to take my kiddos to the beach, wear flip flops, and simply watch nature perform it's beauty. We have had one sickness after another in our house and I just want all these winter germs to go away! I took a walk around my yard today taking photos of signs of spring. Hope these give you warm thoughts. :)

P.S. I very rarely give my photos a title, but for some reason these all had a story to tell. What do ya' think?

Across The Universe

Have you seen it? Because it is incredible! I have always been mesmerized by these times. We rented the Dvd and my daughter loved it. So much so that she wanted to dress up like she was in the movie. Really, this was her idea. I wonder what if would have been like to live in an era where so much was changing? So if you haven't seen the movie, go rent that Dvd! If you lived through it, I am sure it will bring you back. The whole movie is perfectly composed to songs from the Beatles. From "Hey Jude, to "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." Amazing!
